September Love Letter

(Previously Shared Sept 21, 2025)

Happy Equinox!

Earth Season is upon us. It's my favourite time of year and my soul has been yearning for it for some time now.

It's true that every element is available to us at all times. But it's medicine is much more potent when the outer world can reflect it back to you.

I'm not going to lie, this past year has been quite difficult. It's been a reckoning of sorts. Professionally, creatively and in my personal life. Everything got a shake up, nothing was spared.

Not to worry, I have no dramatic news to share. It's just, big dreams needed to take a back seat, my projections into the future required that I see them as that, merely projections, everything required my surrender and I had to learn to get comfortable with what was right in front of me.

The process has been mostly internal and I find myself constantly reorienting back to tend to my current circumstance and what requires my attention. I love distraction like the next ADHD girly but time and time again, I have had to drag myself back to what is, as it is.

And so what feels like months and months of hibernation, possibly years if I'm being truly honest. I find myself here in September. In a month that celebrates and anchors themes of intention, routine and sustainability into our awareness, and I sigh with an exhale of release and a wave of gratitude that I can take in and be held by the nurturing energetics that are abundant.

Because that it the epitome of Earth Season. To nurture, nourish, digest and give thanks to the bounty of what is before you. Not the one that you hope is around the corner, everything and anything that is before you right now.

If you've been having a tough time, it can be easy to negate the good that exists in your current reality. We to easily get caught up in grand gestures and overt expressions of goodness. When most of the time its the sweetness of nuance and simplicity that provides a sustainable and enduring care-taking to bring us to each moment.

That is what has been my north star this past year. To pay attention to and notice the small sustainable actions and intentions that bridge the gaps. As if they were a gentle hand on the small of my back assisting me as I traverse uncertainty and confront my insecurities.

They seem simple enough, but they are things like:

  • Joyful and inspired playlists that delight my heart. Currently the TSITP 3 soundtrack is hitting the mark.

  • Taking myself for a walk.

  • Coffee dates

  • Dinners with friends

  • Journaling and writing.

  • Sketching and making art for my eyes only.

  • Body work & Movement

  • Reading for pleasure

  • Reading to learn something.

  • Carving out time in my schedule to just be. no agenda, just presence. (to be honest this one has been the hardest to hold true)

These small but mighty actions I am indebted to. I am grateful for them on their own and for the fact that I am able to engage with each of them as they are. I am also grateful for how they held me, offered me solace and perspective, and so many other wonderful things.

What is something that you would add, for yourself? You can reply to this email and share it with me. I am always open for suggestions.

Earth season is short, however it's medicine will hold your hand throughout the entire year if you take a little time to incorporate and practice inviting EARTH's supports into your daily life. Keep it simple, choose one or two things to start and then practice them.

Show up for them and they will show up for you.

What feels nurturing and supportive to me at this time?

Ashley
